Castle Lichtenberg

Lichtenberg Castle

Would you like to visit a real castle? Then you've come to the right place!

Here you can explore and discover all year round! And the best part? Your parents don't even have to pay admission to visit the castle. With an audio guide tailored just for you, you can also learn lots of interesting facts about the castle!

But it's not just Lichtenberg Castle that can be explored with the audio guide, which can be conveniently downloaded to your cell phone—there are also two museums to discover.

The first museum we would like to introduce to you is the Palatinate Musicians' Museum.

This section explains the background to how musicians came to emigrate to America in the 18th and 19th centuries.

You can see the largest and smallest brass instruments at the  Palatinate Musicians' Museum!

One of these musicians even composed the song “Hail America,” which is still played today at the inauguration
of the American president!

Opening hours

From April 1st to October 31st, daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
From November 1st to March 31st, daily from noon to 5 p.m.

The museum is closed on Mondays.

The second museum at Lichtenberg Castle that we would like to introduce to you is the Geoskop.

The Remigiomontanus and the Stenokranio boldi, for example, only existed here in our region!
