City and Local History Museum kusel

The most important museum in Kusel is the City and Local History Museum.
There, three rooms are dedicated to the life and work of Fritz Wunderlich (born September 26, 1930, in Kusel; died September 17, 1966, in Heidelberg).(www.fritz-wunderlich-ges.de).
The great tenor of the last century, who was born and raised in Kusel, remained very attached to his hometown throughout his life.
He made this clear by writing the Kusellied (Kusel Song) while studying in Freiburg, inspired by his homesickness.
A rich collection of photos, costumes, written, visual, and audio material awaits you.
The City and Local History Museum is also dedicated to the history of the city.
Historical artifacts, such as the spear and horn of the last night watchman of Kusel,or a Petrus stove plate dating from around 1500, which was rescued from the ruins of a church after a fire in the town.
Temporary exhibitions covering a wide range of topics round off the museum's offerings.
