Wolfskirche in Bosenbach

Wolfskirche Bosenbach

The Wolfskirche is located directly at the entrance to the village coming from Kusel in the cemetery and also adorns most of the village coat of arms.

In the middle of the cemetery in Bosenbach stands the tower of the Wolfskirche, a lost village with extraordinary Romanesque wall and vault paintings from the first half of the 14th century. They depict the Last Judgment, the Last Supper, and Christ's entry into Jerusalem. This Palm Sunday Christ is an iconographic peculiarity. Examples of such depictions can be found in 6th-century art, for example in Ravenna.
